アメリカのLAで開催された、" MISS QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE CONTEST"（第二のカテゴリーの女性の世界美人コンテスト）に、1999年と2000年に参加し、2度とも優勝した事が、CNNに報道され、「MISS TIFFANY‘S UNIVERSE」の成功は更に知られる事になった。彼女達は、ベストコスチューム賞、ベストイブニングガウン賞も受賞した。

参加者の多くは、タイの田舎出身で、学問的、職業的に成功して、経済的負担をかけない場合に、はじめて家族から認められると言う。

「カムアウトしない人も居る」と、2005年の優勝者の20歳のTiptantreeは大会開催中にリポーターに語った。「私は『第二の性』の女性（‘second-sex‘ women）が、社会の中で、普通の男性や女性と同じように生活が出来て、同じ人権が持てたらと願う。」

The success of the Miss Tiffany‘s Universe Contest had also broadcasted by CNN Channel when The Miss Tiffany‘s Universe of year 1999 and 2000 were sent to join " MISS QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE CONTEST" ( The Miss World Contest for the second-category women pageant contest ) held in Los Angeles, U.S.A. as the contestants and came back with the crowns of the first- prize winner both years. They also won the prizes of the Best National Costume and the Best Evening Gown as well.

Many contestants came from rural provinces across Thailand and describe being accepted by their families only after proving that they would be academically and professionally successful, and not a financial burden.

"There are some who still will not come out," 20-year-old Tiptantree the 2005 winner said to the reporter on Wednesday morning at the Bangkok Pattaya Hosittal during the activities. "I want ‘second-sex‘ women to be able to live in society like men and women, and have the same rights as people of any other gender."
