DSM-5で、男性と女性で、asexualの除外診断の文章が違う点について。

その後、坂口様から、男性と女性では記述が微妙に違う、という指摘を受けた。

確かに、女性では
If a lifelong lack of sexual desire is better explained by one's self-identification as "asexual," then diagnosis of female sexual interest/arousal disorder would not be made.
男性では
If the man's low desire is explained by self-identification as an asexual, then diagnosis of male hypoactive sexual desire disorder is not made.

と微妙に違う。
違いに深い意味はないのかもしれないが、考察してみた。


基本的には男性は性欲があるのが正常で、ないのは異常。
女性は性欲がない場合もあるよね、というスタンスの違いがあるかも。


そのため、
男性では「low  desire」(低い性欲)と、性欲が低いだけで問題視されているのに対し、
女性では「lifelong lack of sexual desire」(生来性の性欲欠如)と、ハードルが高くなっている。

また、性欲が低いことのグレーゾーンが女性では広いので、鑑別診断も曖昧になり、is better explained(よりよく説明されるなら)、would not be made.(とは診断されないだろう)と、婉曲的表現になっている。
いっぽう、男性は性欲が低いと直ちに問題なので、鑑別診断も明確になり、is explained (で説明されるなら) is not made(とは診断されない)と、直接的表現になっている。


と、推測した。
